COOLIBAH

Eucalyptus spp.

Eucalyptus spp. of the family Myrtaceae. Aka coolabah, this wood is native to Australia. There are at least half a dozen eucalyptus species that have this common name and given that there are approximately 6,000,000 different species of ecualypus available in Australia, I'm not even going to TRY to distinguish them.

my samples:
NOTE: these pics were all taken in very bright incandescent lighting ("soft white" at 2700K)
colors will vary under other lighting conditions

burls --- some of these, and perhaps all of them, are coated with wax or other finishing agent.

burls listed as coolibah / Eucalyptus microtheca --- the color is clearly over-saturated in the red on the first one

although identified where it was posted as a coolibah burl, it looks to me as though this might be a redwood burl
