CEDROANA

Cedrelinga catenaeformis

Cedrelinga catenaeformis of the family Leguminosae (subfamily Mimosoideae), the legume or pea family

From tropical South America. In Brazil the suffix “-rana” means “resembling ...”, so “cedrorana” means “false cedar”.

My thanks to Paul van Rijckevorsel for this summary

web pics

although these planks were listed on the web as cedroana, Paul van Rijckevorsel tells me that they definitely do NOT look like cedroana and in fact are probably Spanish Cedar
