I don't do many solid turnings, but when I got in this cocobolo block I just couldn't stand the thought of cutting it up for pieces for my other bowls and felt it should be a bowl of its own.

the finish is presently just a coat of natural stain to block moisture absorption

<br>unfortunately, the sapwood really is as ugly as it shows up here, but it does present a nice contrast and gives the piece some character

<br>A nice crotch section that unfortunately only shows up from the bottom.  The base is walnut and still needs to have the felt pad added.
